Pioneer Electronics has announced they will introduce two new BonusView Blu-ray Disc players this summer. The Pioneer BDP-51FD will feature 1080p24 video output and internal decoding of all Blu-ray audio formats (DTS-HD Master Audio decoding will be added via firmware sometime after shipment). For those without an HDMI receiver, you will be happy to know that the player will include 7.1 analog audio outs.
Soon after, they will release the Pioneer BDP-05FD. This player will be modeled after the 51FD, but include upgraded gold-plated connectors, an aluminum front bezel, and a two-year warranty.
No specific release date has been given for these players, but we do know that the BDP-51FD will retail for $599, and the 05FD will retail for $799.
