Apple’s desire to make an IPhone a truly meaningful device, which is more than a mere cell phone and an IPod has resulted into this service called MobileMe. It is a not a free service just like everything else Apple offers. MobileMe is a subscription-based web service offered by Apple for ($99-$149). Apple re-branded its .Mac online service Monday, adding syncing features aimed at iPhone and PC users in addition to the Mac.
MobileMe delivers push email, push contacts and push calendars to your iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, or PC, keeping everything absolutely in sync and up to date. It also includes a suite of slick web apps that work and look just like desktop applications. Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Gallery (photos), and iDisk (sharing files) are all included. It may sound a bit confusing in its description, but it’ll make your life easier without question. MobileMe will be released alongside the new 3G iphone on July 11th.
