According to motherboard maker sources, Intel is trying to bring Core 2 Quad Q8000 CPU series at entry level prices to compete AMD’s triple core CPU called Phenom in the main PC market. Scheduled to be launched in the 3rd quarter of this year , Q8000 will feature FSB of 1333Mhz, 4M level 2 cache and 2.3 GHz core speed. The pricing will be set around $203 in a bulk of 1000 CPU units. It will definitely be costlier than entry level chips for the end consumers. A triple-core Phenom processor 8750 (2.4GHz) is listed on AMD’s processor pricing page at $195. Source
