iphone3g-268x300 AT&T provided (virtually) and retracted free wifi offer from iphone owners

This is the second time AT&T gave false hope to the IPhone owners about free wifi access. Today, moments after AT&T posted a message on their website about providing free wifi access at it’s thousands of wifi hotspots to all of the iphone users who are with AT&T of course, it retracted the word.  No one knows if it was an error that some one at AT&T posted this message on the website, or it is going to happen or not.

At approximately 9 a.m. PDT, AT&T removed the message from its site which read,

AT&T knows Wi-Fi is hot, and free Wi-Fi even hotter, which is why we are proud to offer iPhone customers free access to the nation’s largest Wi-Fi hotspot network with more than 17,000 hotspots.
