Fresco Logic Inc demonstrated a data transfer via USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed USB) connection for the first time in the world at Intel Developer Forum (IDF) Fall 2008.
The company said it used a self-developed software development platform and achieved a transfer speed of more than 350MBps. Fresco Logic connected the platform, which is based on Xilinx Inc’s FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), with a PC through a PCI Express port. The FPGA realized Fresco Logic’s USB 3.0 host and device controller IP.
