USA today released more information on D90. Newer SLRs, such as the D90 and best-selling Canon Digital Rebel EOS XSi, let you compose a shot on the camera’s LCD preview screen rather than in the view-finder, just as you would with a point-and-shoot camera. Nikon engineers were able to take advantage of the feature, called Live View, to enable video-shooting on the D90.
They did it by using a faster frame rate (a measure of how fast a camera produces consecutive images) and a different way of processing the images.
Nikon’s latest digital single-lens reflex camera, the D90, expected in stores next month for $1,299 with a lens. Nikon is billing the D90 as the first SLR with video capability.
