Anyone looking to get their hands on one of Sony’s scarily skinny XEL-1 OLED televisions may not have to wait too much longer. According to gadge-hounds T3, the 11-inch wonder is set to launch next month.
It was previously thought that we wouldn’t see the 3mm deep goggle box until early 2009, but Sony has apparently decided that UK TV addicts have already waited long enough - after all, the XEL-1 arrived in the US at the beginning of this year.
One thing the TV won’t be is cheap. While Sony hasn’t confirmed a price yet, it’s likely to retail for around £1,500 - a sum which could get you a top class 50-inch plasma telly or a high-end laptop.
