Sony defends PS3 and PSP sales

Despite of earlier reports that Sony is loosing PS3 battle against Microsoft XBox 360 by 1:2, Sony CEO Jack Tretton said that sales of the Playstation 3 and the portable PSP are performing above expectations.He said that the PS3 is selling 30 per cent better than Sony’s targets and will hit 10 million units by March 2009. Tretton told Reuters that Sony was going to be 100 percent up over last year which is about 30 percent ahead of where Sony “should be”.

One number it will not be hitting is the number one slot as it trails a long way behind the Nintendo Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox360.
