Dell Silently Launches the Dell XPS 430 Mini-Tower Desktop
Both Electronista and SlashGear report that Dell “silently” launched the mid-range, Dell XPS 430 mini-tower desktop series today. It is considered a “silent” launch as the usual fanfare of press announcements and news wire stories that typically accompany new product announcements were not to be had this time around. As to why Dell didn’t accompany the new product series with any form of media alerts is uncertain. Other than making life a little more difficult for intrepid technology news bloggers, the relatively unglamorous, but functional, mid-range-class desktop might not be enough of an enticement to pull the Dell P.R. team from busily working on what will surely be very glamorous announcements that herald the arrival of higher-end, Intel Core i7-based systems come this coming Monday, November 17. (Note: We don’t have any specific information that tells us that Dell will or won’t release Intel Core i7-based desktops on Monday; we are just assuming that Dell will—along with just about every major PC manufacturer—as November 17 is the official launch day for the Intel Core i7 architecture.)
