The heat has cooled down a bit over the licensing dispute Sony and Netflix have been having. A number of Sony Pictures-owned films have been taken down last week from the Netflix Xbox streaming service; some of them have now return, however there is no indication on when the rest may be back. Netflix spokesman Steve Swasey has refused to discuss licensing details with specific film studios since last week when Xbox owners complained that Netflix’ streaming services for their console were suddenly at a lack of Sony films. Swasey stated that the movies have been restored, but only in part.
“We said earlier that titles come and go,” Swasey said. “That is part of the natural ebb and flow [of license deals]. Some titles are back while some are not.”
