Leica has introduced its first HD-capable DLP projector. The projector has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 1920×1200 native resolution with a 2,500:1 contrast ratio. The projector uses a 220W Philips lamp to project images with a life of 3,000 regular hours or 4,000 hours when used in an special “Eco” mode. The projector can be hooked up to your computer as well as traditional video sources as well as to a computer network via Ethernet. If you want one of these you’ll have to start saving your pennies. The device is expected to run $12,700 when it’s released May 2nd in Japan.
