ARM-based platform makers including Qualcomm and Freescale are preparing to launch ARM-based netbooks at Computex Taipei this year, according to sources at netbook makers.A model equipped with Freescale’s i.MX51 CPU (ARM Coretex A8) and manufactured by Pegatron Technology, and a model with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon CPU and manufactured by Wistron will both appear at Computex Taipei 2009, while Nvidia Tegra-based models will appear at a later time. Micro-Star International (MSI) has reportedly expressed interest in developing Tegra-based products, while the company and Asustek Computer have both confirmed that they are evaluating the possibility of launching Qualcomm CPU-based netbooks.
