| Microsoft is looking to Windows 7 to win back customers who delayed upgrading to Vista, first sold in 2007. Sales of Windows for personal computers fell 16 percent last quarter, hurt by the recession and demand for cheaper laptops that use an eight-year-old version of Windows. Rob Enderle, an analyst at Enderle Group in San Jose, Calif., said he expects Windows 7 to go on sale in September. The company needs a new version to spur corporate demand and to uproot 2001’s Windows XP from netbooks. |
